However, he needs regular grooming. Bathe the dog only if necessary. The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen’s teeth and ears should be cleaned regularly and thoroughly.

Intelligent and eager to please, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is rather easy to train. He needs early socialization and obedience training in order to understand that his owner is in charge. Training should be consistent and the teacher must be patient. However, these dogs respond best to positive reinforcement and rewards.

Activity:

Small Petit Basset Griffon Vendeens are very energetic, so they need regular exercising in the fresh air. This dog loves family games and all kinds of funny activities. It is important to remember that a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is always ready to take off in pursuit of prey. Therefore, it is necessary to keep him on a sturdy leash or let him run freely in a well-fenced yard. However, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen should not be left unattended in the courtyard, because he loves to dig, so he can escape easily. This breed can bear apartment living, provided that it exercises sufficiently.
