Description:

The Siberian Retriever is a type of Spitz dog.  This is a very strong dog for work.  As usual with Nordic breeds, even the Siberian Retriever has an aerodynamic body. It is a pure breed originating from Canada. Although the name of the breed can be disconcerting, not a mix between a Labrador Retriever and Siberian Husky. The breed is very little known, and no breed clubs currently recognize.

Characteristics:

In his appearance, the Siberian Retriever resembles many other Nordic breeds. These dogs are built very strong and muscular but appear yet still sporty and agile. The size of the animals is usually from 50 to 70 cm. The weight amounts to 27 to 45 kg. The coat of the dog is very fluffy. The dense undercoat permits the straightforward life in extremely cold climates, however, grooming is also correspondingly time-consuming. White, black, red and white as well as black and white are the typical colors of the coat.

Character:

The Siberian Retriever can have a somewhat different temperament from other races north.  Although the dogs are known as loving and friendly, but show aggressive traits in dealing with strangers on. These dogs usually do well with children, especially if reared with them. Being with other dogs always makes them happy, because they are breed to work well in a package. The compatibility with other dogs and small animals can be problematic if they did not grow up together. Siberian Retrievers have a combination of strength, intelligence and strength properties that are good for virtually any race. They are not as fast as their cousins in Siberia or Alaska because they have been the breed for endurance and strength.

Health Problems:

The Siberian Retriever are relatively rare, so little is known about the total race.  Even the fact that the dogs are a mixed race or not, opinions vary widely. Accordingly, not much is known about the health of the breed. However, you should suffer some genetic disorders. There is a chance he could inherit the conditions of his parents. These include OCD, epilepsy, eye problems, bloat, Joint dysplasia, heart problems, skin problems…

Coat / Care:

Thick, double skin coating protects these dogs bitterly cold temperatures of which come with long winters of Labrador. Coat colors include solid white, solid black, white and black, red and white, and gray and white. There are two rare coat colors, which can also be found in this breed: Grey Wolf and Solid Gray. The Siberian Retriever probably needs a lot of brushing as any race would double layer. This dog sheds constantly but has significant side twice a year. During the time of shedding twice a year, these dogs should be brushed daily to remove loose hair. Sometimes, the bathrooms are needed to completely clean the layer.

Training:

Training is easy and fun, as they are an intelligent race. As original Huskies dogs have a great urge to move, so they need enough room to run and also the owner should  be an active athlete to the being needs of racial justice. The combination of endurance, intelligence and willingness believes makes training with the dogs easy and simple. This ability to learn can, however, also disadvantageous effect. If the Siberian Retriever is boring, it can also be very fast bad qualities acquire, which are difficult to wean him only again.

Activity:

The Siberian Retriever is a great family dog if you have a good sized yard, this dog will be active and happy to spend time outside.  Long walks and ample exercise will go a long way towards keeping this dog calm and non-destructive. Giving the dog some sort of work to will keep them both exercised and happy. Cold climates are obviously best for this breed.
