BRUSSELS GRIFFON DOG BREED

Description:

The Brussels Griffon is athletic, with an almost human expression on the face, this funny guy is a great companion. The Brussels Griffon gets along great with children and other pets, including cats and small animals. This is a sensitive and curious dog that needs particular human affection. The Brussels Griffon was officially recognized by the American Kannel Club in 1910.

Character:

Cheerful, friendly, loyal and sometimes cranky, this dog can be quite finicky. Like all representatives of small breeds, the Brussels Griffon is not always enthusiastic about following the house rules, but consistent upbringing will moderate his bad behavior. Since they can be quite intractable, and at the same time nervous, Griffons need a solid but gentle hand.

Coat / Care:

Brussels Griffons have a distinctive trait, that is, they`ve got two types of coat. The first coat type is rough, hard, dense and has a wire-like structure. The second type is the exact opposite: the coat is smooth, glossy, with straight and short hair. Brussels Griffons come in red, black and black with reddish brown markings. In order to keep it beautiful and shiny, the coat must be thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. They need professional grooming twice a year.

Health Problems:

The Brussels Griffon is generally healthy dog, but like all breeds, they’re prone to Hip Dysplasia, Patella Luxation, Eye Problems, Skin Allergies. The Brussels Griffon has a life expectancy of 13 to 15 years.

Weight / Height

The male Brussels Griffon dog breed’s height is around 8 – 10 inches and weighs around 8 and 10 pounds. Female Brussels Griffon dogs can reach a size from 7 – 10 inches and weighs between 8 and 10 pounds.

Training:

You need to adjust to the peculiarities of the Brussels Griffon because he quickly loses interest in the monotonous process of learning. If you turn learning process into a game, you will most definitely keep the attention of your pet for a long time.

Activity:

Although this is very lively and hyperactive breed, you will not spend a lot of time and effort on entertaining your pet. The Brussels Griffon may entertain themselves. Griffons need brief daily walks, and their small size makes them suited to any household.
