ENGLISH BOODLE DESIGNER DOG

Description:

The English Boodle was designed by crossing two breeds: the English Bulldog and the Poodle. This breed is exhibiting a combination of the typical characteristics found in its parent breeds. They are smart as the Poodle and loving as the English Bulldog. The English Boodle is not recognized by the AKC, as it is considered to be a hybrid breed (designer breed).

Characteristics:

The English Boodle is small to the medium-sized designer dog, with a large head, dull facial features and long floppy ears. It is agile and incredibly hardy. The English Boodle is one of the gentlest and friendliest dogs and has become one of the most popular family pets.

Character:

Affectionate, loyal and calm, the English Boodle is extremely family-oriented. If left alone for a long time, it can become lonely which can induce destructive demeanor, followed by constant barking. The English Boodle does very well with children who know how to behave around dogs. It also gets along great with other dogs and pets, who grew up with him in the same house. English Boodles are naturally vigilant which makes them great watchdogs, always alerting the family of possible danger.

Coat / Care:

The English Boodle usually has mild, slightly curly or wavy coat. There are also short-haired Boodles. Regular brushing or combing is recommended, and bathing is needed only in case of urgent need, by using a mild shampoo.

Health Problems:

The English Boodle is generally healthy dog breed, but like all breeds, they can be prone to all sorts of Skin Infections, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Epilepsy and Heart Disease. The English Boodle has a life expectancy of 10 to 12 years.

Weight / Height

The male English Boodle hybrid breed’s height is around 12 – 16 inches and weighs around 15 and 55 pounds. Female English Boodle dogs can reach a size from 12 – 16 inches and weighs between 15 and 55 pounds.

Training:

The English Boodle can be quite stubborn, which makes them unsuited for people with no previous experience. Training and socialization lessons should be based on firmness, fairness, patience, and consistency. Make sure to avoid heavy-handed or rigid methods, since Boodles does not respond to such manner.

Activity:

This dog is great for keeping in a city apartment, as far as its activity level is satisfied. The English Boodle gets great pleasure from communicating with its family, loves spending time indoors as well as playing games outdoors, in a quiet, well-fenced yard. Make sure that you walk your pet on a secure leash.
