The Miniature Bull Terrier is a hybrid dog, created by crossing the Old English Bulldog with the English Terrier, sometimes mixed with the Spanish Pointer. This breed was developed in 1830 for bull-baiting. After 20 years, these small Bull Terriers have ceased to take part in the battle; and they were used as herders, guards and watchdogs. Miniature Bull Terriers were created parallel with their equivalents in Standard size Bull Terriers. The Miniature Bull Terrier was officially recognized by American Kennel Club in 1991.

The Miniature Bull Terrier is aggressive, bellicose and fearless. He jealously protects his family and territory. This is why this breed needs an experienced and strong owner. Indeed, the Miniature Bull Terrier should be trained by a dominant owner, otherwise he may be too aggressive.
Lively and generally friendly, Miniature Bull Terriers can be problematic and quite demanding. Do not leave young children and small pets alone with this breed. However, after a proper socialization, Miniature Bull Terriers will be able to find a common language with animals within the family.
The Miniature Bull Terrier has a short, glossy, stiff coat that is adherent to the dog’s body. The skin of this dog should always be stretched; therefore, wrinkles and folds are not allowed. Mini Bull Terrier does not need regular grooming. In general, it is sufficient to use a special rubber glove to periodically wipe the dog’s coat. However, the ears need thorough care.
The Miniature Bull Terrier is generally quite healthy, but there can be prone to skin, kidney, knee and heart problems. The Miniature Bull Terrier has a life expectancy of 11 to 13 years.
The male Miniature Bull Terrier dog breed’s height is around 12 – 14 inches and weighs around 22 and 28 pounds. Female Miniature Bull Terrier dogs can reach a size from 10 – 14 inches and weighs between 18 and 28 pounds.
The Miniature Bull Terrier can be quite difficult to train. Therefore, this dog needs a strict, dominant and patient trainer. Stubborn and feisty, the Miniature Bull Terrier must be exposed to socialization at very young age.
The Miniature Bull Terrier is very energetic and he needs a well-fenced yard to roam around and explore. However, this little Bull Terrier also likes to run and to walk on a leash with his owner. In order to stay healthy, representatives of this breed require at least one hour of intense activity.
