Description

The Aussiedoodle (also known as Aussiepoo, Aussie-Poo, Aussi-Poo) was bred by crossing two breeds: Poodle and Australian Shepherd. The dogs of this type are often called designers. The Aussiedoodle is a very popular companion, and in some cases, he can be used as a shepherd dog. The Aussiedoodle is not recognized by the AKC, as it is considered to be a hybrid breed (designer breed).

Characteristics

The Aussiedoodle has rectangular structure body with a proud posture. They are muscular, flexible, agile and adaptable. Since this breed has a mixed ancestry, accordingly, the appearance of these dogs can also be quite diverse.

Character

Balanced, attractive and cute, Aussiedoodles have an extremely pleasant personality. They get along with other dogs or pets perfectly and they are extremely patient with children. Since the Aussiedoodle is very peaceful and friendly with absolutely everyone around him, he has no qualities to be a good caretaker or guard.

Coat / Care

The Aussiedoodle’s coat can be curly, wavy or straight, and his length is also very diverse. The presence of undercoat also variable. Depending on the type of Aussiedoodle, the coat may require regular grooming. In addition, it is important to constantly monitor the cleanliness of the dog’s ears.

Health Problems

Aussiedoodles may be prone to Hip Dysplasia or Elbow Dysplasia. Dogs of this breed show a serious reaction to Ivermectin, a drug used against heartworm. Aussiedoodles should be given a healthy diet in order to maintain their health. The Aussiedoodle generally lives for 10 to 12 years.

Weight / Height

The male Aussiedoodle hybrid breed’s height is around 16 – 23 inches and weighs around 35 and 70 pounds. Female Aussiedoodle dogs can reach a size from 14 – 21 inches and weighs between 25 and 60 pounds. Male dogs are generally larger than females.

Training

The Aussiedoodle is a dog with a high level of intelligence, which means they learn with ease. They are willing to obey if they had early socialization. The treatment of this dog should not include sharp or power methods, on the contrary, education should be based on perseverance, fairness, patience and reward.

Activity

The Aussiedoodle is a very athletic dog that needs intensive physical exercises and stimulation of intelligence in order to not get bored. They can do fine in the apartment, provided that they get enough activity. But the best ambiance for these dogs is in a fenced yard, in which it has an opportunity for regular exercise.
