DOGS THAT DO NOT LOSE THEIR HAIR

Dogs That Shed The Least. There are certain breeds of dogs that shed intensely at any time throughout the year. Nevertheless, regardless of the size of the dog and the coat type, there is a significant number of light shedders and dog breeds that are relatively unlikely to cause an allergic reaction.

There is no such thing as a non-shedding breed though. The more popular notion of non-shedding breeds has led to a new trend, the so-called crossbreeding. It is the process of creating hypoallergenic hybrids (hybrids are also known as designer dogs) by crossing two pure breeds (usually by crossing the Poodle with other pure breeds). Dog breeders do this in an attempt to reduce the incidence of certain hereditary problems found in the purebred breeds while retaining their more appealing traits.
This information can be very helpful for those who want a pet but refuse to buy one.

Here is a small list of breeds that shed the least and are often hypoallergenic.

Komondor

The Komondor is a cute sheepdog that looks like a sheep and has an impressive amount of hair. In terms of maintenance, this dog is not too demanding, since this is one of the breeds that shed the least.

Poodle

The Poodle sheds very little. Due to their low allergenic qualities, Poodles have been used in order to create hypoallergenic breeds.

Basenji

The Basenji, a South African breed, has a short silky hair, very pleasant to the touch. This breed requires little effort and not lose the hair.

Bichon Frise

Even though the Schnauzer has a woolly coat, he does not shed. These dogs require a lot of grooming in order to prevent tangling and to look neat.
