Saint Berdoodle

Description:

The Saint Berdoodle is a crossbreed, developed by crossing the Saint Bernard and a Standard Poodle. Hence, this dog breed belongs to the so-called designer breeds. The Saint Berdoodle is the largest and most unpopular hybrids.

Characteristics:

The Saint Berdoodle is a muscular, powerful dog, large in size hybrid breed. This dog has dark eyes and a very intelligent facial expression. The Sint Berdoodle is good with other pets and children. These hybrid breed loves being around people, they are protective and great family pets.

Character:

The Saint Berdoodle is a very kind and gentle. Due to its size, this dog is not recommended for families with small children. Nonetheless, it gets along well with different pets, provided that they grew up in the same household. These dogs are extremely family oriented, and if left alone, Saint Berdoodles will become unmanageable. The Berdoodle is suspicious of strangers, and he protects his family and territory unhesitatingly.

Health Problems:

The Saint Berdoodle is generally healthy hybrid breed, but like all breeds, they’re prone to Canine Hip Dysplasia, Retinal Dystrophy, Wobblers Syndrom, Ear Infections, Von Willebrand Disease, Various Skin Diseases and Swellings. The Saint Berdoodle has a life expectancy of 10 to 12 years.

Weight / Height:

The male Saint Berdoodle dog breed’s height is around 24 – 30 inches and weighs around 110 and 200 pounds. Female Saint Berdoodle dogs can reach a size from 24 – 27 inches and weighs between 110 and 190 pounds. These Male dogs are generally larger than females.

Coat / Care:

Saint Berdoodles are usually covered with curly hair, but their coat may also be rough or smooth. Usually, Saint Berdoodles are white with red markings, but they have a red with white markings. Depending on the type of the coat, this breed requires regular cleaning or even professional grooming. Bathe your dog only in case of necessity, using a mild shampoo.

Training:

This breed needs both obedience training and socialization at young age. The Saint Berdoodle requires a dominant teacher, but he will not respond to too harsh methods of training. On the contrary, education must be strict, consistent, and yet fair.

Activity:

The Berdoodle is a very active dog breed, full of energy. For this reason, he cannot live in a city apartment. Hence, Saint Berdoodles require space for games and free walks without a leash. These dogs thrive best in a vacation home with a large yard.
